Pear Care
Pears ripen from the inside so the best way to tell if a pear is ready to eat is to gently press the skin at the stem to test if it gives slightly.
- If the flesh feels hard, let the pear ripen at room temperature for 2-5 days. To speed up the process, pop them in a paper bag with an apple or a banana.
- If the flesh is supple, it’s ready for eating or place it in the fridge to store it for a day or so.

Some pears come ready ripened – look out for Ripe & Ready or Perfectly Ripe pears in selected greengrocers or supermarkets.
